The history of Dulcolax®
In 1952 a new era in the therapy of constipation was born with the invention of the effective, predictable laxative, Dulcolax. Developed by Boehringer Ingelheim after the Second World War, Dulcolax provided relief for those suffering constipation resulting from poor living conditions in Germany aggravated by a poor diet and shortage of medicine. The new generation of laxatives containing Bisacodyl began worldwide distribution shortly after its invention.
The Dulcolax Range was extended with the launch of Dulcolax SP Drops in 2000, a new liquid drops format containing the active ingredient Sodium Picosulfate.
Nowadays Dulcolax is recognised around the world as one of the most effective and reliable of the laxative brands.
